A new programme is about to be launched that will support iwi members achieve financial independence and improve their financial wellbeing. Ka Uruora will include a range of integrated services on financial education, a savings scheme and future opportunities to support whanau to enter home ownership.
Ka Uruora- Savings will be the first kaupapa to be launched and made available to iwi registered members, http://kauruora.nz/savings/ in partnership with SuperLife, the scheme provider.
Te Atiawa and Taranaki Iwi will both support Ka Uruora Savings by providing matched savings contributions to members up to $100.
Future services to be delivered under the programme will include financial education and opportunities for housing.
The delivery of the Ka Uruora programme will be supported by TSB Community Trust (housing), Te Puni Kōkiri (financial education and housing) and Te Tumu Kāinga (housing).
